*Trigger warning*
After the death of her husband by suicide, Gillian Brooks tried to make sense of the events and preserve memories for her children. So she wrote it down as a story. Now Gillian’s story has been made into a film with the help of award- winning filmmaker Geoff Brokate and verd de dris arts.
As the film goes on we see the family grow together - the birth of Gillian and Joe’s three children, the high as lows - and hear how the legacy of Joe’s death impacted on those he left behind.
This multi-layered, lyrical, transcendent and ultimately uplifting film does an exemplary job of showing the reality of suicide bereavement.
