A new theatre performance created and performed by men who have experienced mental health issues will be available for bookings from February next year.
Organised by mental health charity Community Link’s CLEAR service in Kirklees (Community Links Engagement and Recovery Service), Men’s Talk is a 40-minute theatre performance which explores the experiences of men, their mental health and their journey to recovery.
It is part of a creative advocacy project for men who have experienced mental health issues which uses applied theatre and film-making to reduce stigma, signpost support and encourage men to talk.
This new Men’s Talk performance deals with adult themes including self-harm and suicide and can be followed by a Q&A session.
The performance – suitable for conferences, training and community events - will be available for bookings from February 2023, requiring a performance space of 5m x 3m, in addition to an audience.
Thanks to support from Kirklees Council, a number of free performances can be offered to organisations based in Kirklees.
For organisations outside of Kirklees, or for other queries, contact Stuart Hawkes on email at mens.talk@commslinks.co.uk.
