Leeds employers and business owners are set to gather for an in-person event to explore the crucial role workplaces can play in helping to prevent suicide.mindful-employer-logo-1.jpg

The Leeds Mindful Employer Network event has been organised to mark World Suicide Prevention Day and will take place on Thursday September 8th  at ASDA House in the city.

Organisers have announced that all places have now been booked for the event but have asked anyone else still interested to add their details to the waiting list in case a place becomes available or to schedule a repeat event.

The event is aimed at all Leeds employers and business owners, with attendances particularly welcome from small business owners and those from male-dominated industries.

It will feature  approaches of fellow employers to preventing suicide, hearing from people with lived experience and how they were supported at work and learning about local services, training, tools and resources.

There will also be experiences, tips and good practice shared and an explanation of Leeds’s strategic approach to preventing suicide and where employers fit in.

The Leeds Mindful Employer Network was established in 2013 to bring local employers together to champion positive mental health at work.

It is commissioned by Leeds City Council’s public health and led by Leeds Mind in partnership with local employers.
