Recordings of webinars which provided further details on the £10m Suicide Prevention VCSE Grants are now online.
Two webinars were organised by the Departmenr of Health and Social Care following the announcement of a £10m fund to support suicide prevention activities delivered in England by VCSE organisations in 2023 to 2025.
The 'Meet the Funder' webinars aimed to further describe the objectives of the grant, who is eligible to apply and provide further pointers on the application process, as well as the chance to put questions to the grant team about applying to this fund.
Some of the key points raised at the first webinar included:
- Project should meet one or both of the key objectives of the fund:
- to support non-profit organisations to configure their suicide prevention services and activities to better meet the increased demand seen in recent years
- to support a range of diverse and innovative activity that can prevent suicides, both at a national and community level
- Organisations should meet the eligibility criteria
- Applications must be made through the Find a Grant portal
- Applications must be submitted by 11.55pm on 1st October 2023
- Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their bid in early November; shortlisted applicants will be asked for additional supporting information in November with funding being awarded to successful applicants from December onwards
- What makes a good application?
- Objectives of fund are clearly met
- Clear how the project will prevent suicides directly/indirectly
- Delivery plan is achievable and convincingly shows how the goals will be met
- Responses are support by the relevant evidence
- Reference to relevant experience and expertise
- Concise, coherent and within word limit
