A vacancy is being advertised for someone with lived experience to support others who have been bereaved by suicide across West Yorkshire.
The West Yorkshire Suicide Bereavement Service, which is funded by West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, is recruiting for a part-time (30 hours per week) ‘postvention practitioner’ to cover Kirklees and Wakefield.
The service, delivered by Leeds Mind, offers a variety of support, including one-to-one sessions offering practical, advocacy and emotional support and group sessions including skills courses and peer group support.
It is asked that applicants have knowledge of the impact of being bereaved by suicide, with personal experience of being affected by a suicide at least three or more years ago.
Post holders will carry a caseload of people referred to the service and will also need access to a car for the role.
The deadline for applications is midnight on October 30th, with an interview date scheduled for October 14th.
