Two vacancies are currently being advertised for people with lived experience to support others who have been bereaved by suicide across West Yorkshire.
The West Yorkshire Suicide Bereavement Service, which is funded by West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, is recruiting for two, part-time (30 hours per week) ‘postvention practitioners’ - with one position covering Kirklees and Wakefield and the other Bradford and Craven.
The service, delivered by Leeds Mind, offers a variety of support, including one-to-one sessions offering practical, advocacy and emotional support and group sessions including skills courses and peer group support.
It is asked that applicants have knowledge of the impact of being bereaved by suicide, with personal experience of being affected by a suicide at least three or more years ago.
Post holders will carry a caseload of people referred to the service and will also need access to a car for the role.
The deadline for applications is midnight on September 4th, with interview dates scheduled for September 14th and 15th.
