West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are delighted to announce that they are offering free SafeTALK suicide prevention training from a range of Fire Stations across West Yorkshire. The Rescue service aim to train colleagues from across health, care, criminal justice, the voluntary sector and other public services alongside fire and rescue staff.

SafeTALK is a half-day (3 hour) suicide awareness course aimed at helping individuals to recognise and engage with people who might be having thoughts of suicide.

SafeTALK was developed by LivingWorks Education. The programme originated in Canada and today it is one of the fastest growing suicide prevention training internationally with over 30 countries signed-up to it.
