Venues are being sought to host the Yorkshire 'Speak Their Name' suicide memorial quilt later this year.

The quilt, which was 12 months in the making, contains 10-by-10 inch squares - each created in memory of someone loved and who has died to suicide.YorkshireSTNquilt.jpg

It was initially unveiled in Millennium Square in Leeds last year before going on tour across the region, visiting York Minster, Leeds City College, Ripon Cathedral and Hull Minster.

It is currently on display at Halifax Minster until the end of May - but venues are currently being sought to host the quilt during July and September.

Karen Sykes, who helped lead the project after losing her husband Ian to suicide in 2015 and her daughter Beth in 2019, said they are "so overwhelmed and grateful" for the support the quilt has received so far and urged anyone with any suggestions for future venues to get in touch.

*Halifax Minster is open daily 12pm to 4pm and the quilt is being shown alongside a film about the project, created by the Yorkshire Speak Their Name group and filmed by Scott Coulthard.

Books are also available to purchase from the Minster shop.

To get in touch about potential future venues for the quilt's tour, contact the group via DM on Twitter @Yorkshire_STN.
