Papyrus UK is advertising for a Community Development Officer to work with partners and stakeholders across West Yorkshire to tailor support, training and education to create suicide safer communities.

It is a role made possible thanks to funding from West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership’s Suicide Prevention Programme, together with Kirklees Council, and is designed to focus on staff and volunteers who come into contact with people with high risk factors for suicide.

The successful candidate will work with local communities, volunteers and key partners to engage them in the prevention of suicide, equipping a wide range of stakeholders with skills and knowledge to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities.

The role involves raising awareness and delivering training among a variety of groups such as professionals, parents, young people, volunteers and other trainers.

The job is based at the Leeds office, with regular travel across West Yorkshire, and is a fixed term contract, of 36 hours per week, to June 2024.

Closing date is July 17.
