An online workshop has been organised for later this year to help inform the creation of postvention guidance for NHS use in the event of a colleague suicide.
Stakeholders are invited to the workshop, hosted by the University of Surrey online on Wednesday May 17th 10am to 1pm, to identify the impact on, and support needs of, NHS staff following a colleague suicide and ultimately inform a set of evidence-based postvention guidance.
Prof Jill Maben, professor of health services research and nursing at the university's School of Health Sciences, will chair the workshop, with guest commentators TBC.

The workshop will include a summary of research findings regarding the impact of colleague suicide on NHS staff; the experience of NHS workers who have supported staff following the suicide of colleague and the researchers' recommendations for future postvention guidance.
It also includes the premiere of a short film highlighting some of the key points from the research.
Workshop attendees will be invited to share their thoughts and feedback at a Q&A sessions and participate in a facilitated group discussion to share knowledge and expertise - the outcomes of which will be shared and collated and will inform the ongoing work in writing a set of postvention guidance fo NHS use.
