Healthcare staff who have been impacted by suicide are being invited to help shape the development of a national suicide prevention learning resource. NHS England logo.png

NHS England have commissioned the learning resource, specifically for healthcare staff in England, to be available in 2024 and have organised a series of focus groups to allow those with lived experience to co-design the training.

Clinical and non-clinical staff who have been impacted by suicide or who have experienced suicidal thoughts and feelings to use their voice to shape these training resources.

Views and experiences are welcomed about the need for suicide prevention training within our work settings, how best to enable staff to recognise signs of suicidal distress in themselves and others, experiences of supporting and signposting colleagues and ways to encourage help-seeking behavour and challenge stigma.

Examples of best practice if anyone has been support colleagues or has been the recipient of helpful support, is also of particular interest.
