Ensure nobody is left behind in new national Mental Health and Suicide Prevention strategies.

West Yorkshire Suicide Prevention Programme is encouraging all partners and people across West Yorkshire to complete the current government consultation to help shape a new national suicide prevention strategy. The deadline is the 7th July at 11.45pm.

The Department of Health and Social Care has created this great ‘conversation toolkit’ which explains in simple terms what is going on, and what you need to do.

You could put your own response to the government, or you could complete one for the organisation or team you work for.

Responses from people with lived experience of mental health problems and their carers, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, or suicide bereavement would offer invaluable evidence.

The DHSC are actively encouraging the perspective of volunteers and staff community based voluntary sector organisations as well as a very broad range of public sector providers, researchers and others.

You can access the discussion paper and respond to the call for evidence here
Please find the easy read version of the call for evidence here
The link to access the survey to submit your response is here and the survey will close at 11:45pm on 7 July 2022

There is also a joint response being submitted from the Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Programme at the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership.  If you would prefer to feed into this, please email your thoughts or contributions to WYH.MHLDA@bdct.nhs.uk stating that you wish to feed into the call for evidence.
