Children, young people and families who have been bereaved by suicide have helped develop a toolkit to support families like their own in the aftermath of losing someone to suicide.
The toolkit was commissioned by NHS South Yorkshire, Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield’s local authorities and health partners in Bassetlaw and children, young people and families in South Yorkshire developed it with CHILYPEP, a young people’s empowerment project.

It includes sections on how to talk to your child about suicide, what to do and what not to do, practical things parents have done to help their children following bereavement by suicide, self-care and what schools could do.
