Guest speaker slots have now been finalised for our upcoming meeting of the West Yorkshire Suicide Prevention Advisory Network. WY Suicide Prevention Logo (Mustard).jpg

These meetings occur quarterly and are three-hour online, informal, drop-in meetings where members can listen to guest speakers share their suicide prevention work and/or experience. 

For the next meeting - which is set to take place on June 6th from 9am to 12noon - the agenda will include talks on: 

  • Suicide prevention and the trans communities of West Yorkshire - by Jules Stimpson of Leeds Mind and Louie Stafford (Our House, Wakefield).
  • Engaging men: what have we learned through the delivery of Men in Health to date - Liaquat Ali, Men in Health, Touchstone.
  • Communications, Support and Follow-up: people with lived experience tell us how to get it right - Jess Parker, Arlie Haslam (Leeds Mind) and guests TBC
  • Suicide Prevention in Primary Care from a GP point of view - Dr Gwyn Elias, GP Leeds, NHSEI Personalised Care Regional Clinical Lead (NEY)
